This sorority year we were “Building Our Future on Tradition.” Inspired by the International Theme, we shared stories of personal and family traditions in our programs as well as revisiting past, and beginning new, chapter traditions.
Beginning Day began at A Path Of Tea, with a tasting of six different types of tea and a history of tea, its origin, health benefits and much more. Followed by a visit to a martini bar that soon turned into a pub crawl, it was proclaimed a Beginning Day that would go down in history as the longest ever! Apparently taking "Building Our Future on Traditions" to heart, the endless Beginning Day seems to be a favorite we return to often.
Lively as ever, we took home HCC CAPA awards for 1st Place Ways and Means, 2nd Place Social, 2nd Place Council Participation, and 2nd Place Chapter Participation. We turned out in force, topped with our coveted "Boobie Hats," for the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure, supported local teachers by donating classroom reading materials and gift cards, supported Depelchin Children's Center with Christmas gifts for children in the foster system, and spent a day wrapping gifts for the Be An Angel Fund.
