The HCC theme for this year was Your Forever Friends which prompted our President Lela to include friends here and aboard. Through our programs we visited several countries: Ireland, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Greece, Spain, Australia, Scotland, Italy and Saudi Arabia. We shared we each other our travel experiences, new friendships that were made along the way and even came across a fellow BSP chapter in Saudi Arabia.
Our socials took us to various restaurants where we tasted on international foods of the countries we explored. Along with dining, we travelled to festivals, the Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill and the Montgomery Wine Festival and our annual road trip to Connie Noble’s home away from home in Bolivar. .
In March Houston City Council of Beta Sigma Phi was announced the Arc of Katy’s Gala Honoree. Our chapter was well represented through the generosity of fellow sister Connie Noble at the Gala at Pine Forest Country Club. It was a lovely event and we all had a ball!
The year had its ups and downs for all members. Donna’s beloved mother passed away, Laurie welcomed into her life a new grandson, and Judy’s daughter Sarah was married! Gisele received her Master’s, Judy announced her retirement and Laurie landed a new great job! Kerry received recognition for her teaching skills, and our President Lela not only was our chapter president, sweetheart and Women of the Year but also won the title of Queen of HCC Royal Court at the Sweetheart Ball!
In closing we are proud of Kerry, President of HCC, and Connie Noble, Parliamentarian for all their hard work this year on the board and for all our chapter for winning first place HCC Chapter Participation and Honorable mention for both program and social at Founder’s Day! Another fantastic year!!
